Don't Like Vista ? Try Longhorn
I guess this is a slap in the face to the blind supporters of vista, who claim "you have to be smart to install vista", implying that the people who have problems or just dont like it are not smart. Lets see who laughs last though! Even top officials struggled to make vista work!

Don't Like Vista ? Try Longhorn
One thing I did learn of Vista, it finds problems that XP does not, and can fix alot of them, however, in your case may have caused the final crash. My recommendation is try VISTA out, and if you do not like it, restore your computer back to it's original state. Meanwhile, during testing, keep any important files

problem with 5827 BD and VISTA 20
Got
new computers recently. couldn't get the config I wanted without VISTA. I am not a diehard techie, but VISTA sucks so amazingly, they couldn't have created a worse program If I had any skills I might just try this linux but I don't so I won't. Meanwhile, my 2001 purchased XP desktop is still running flawlessly.

Should I use 64 bit Windows XP?
Just like you? Though since you had a difficult time with it the first time I don't hold out hope you'll get it this time. So says Pretty Clueless Guy. Where? I didn't see a response from him. Try the mirror. Didn't see him there either. You are apparently as clueless as ever, Pretty Clueless Guy.

WLPG - Blue screens on Vista (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA)
Please
try updating your video card driver first. You may need to check your video card manufacturer website for specific drivers for Vista. Please let me know if this fixes the problem. I have not seen this blue screen (or any other) on my vista computer. Any ideas? I'd really like to get this up and running. RT.

Seems like MCE doesn't like dual tuners for some reason as it works fine with Hypermedia and Nero7. I get about the same no of channels as you in MCE but it differs in Hypermedia and Nero. I can get all the Channels using the supplied software but when i try viewing the TV using MCE i can only recieve a few.

Vista looks like a pile of crap compared to Mac OS X
It does sound like something is running that is replacing those files, something like a Norton Ghost or the like. Every copy of Vista includes Windows Mail, which is a rewrite of the venerable Outlook Express. If you have Vista, you have WM.
